Hello, world!

I'm Pranav. I have a background working on software and machine learning. I'm really passionate about doing exceptional science and engineering. Currently I am about to wrap up my research with the Snyder Lab @ Stanford on how diet affects diseases.

I have a diverse background, from working on scientific research (tumour recurrence models @ Rubin Lab at Stanford, ELO based evaluations for the Stanford Rare Disease AI Hackathon and multiomics research with the Snyder Lab), at a few different startups (first software engineer at Dognosis a canine neuro tech company training sniffer dogs to detect cancer) and my own software (a unified CRM API) among other things.

I love doing sidequests and have a lot of rabbitholes that I am curious about and exploring on the side. If any of this resonated with you or spiked your curiosity, please drop me a message. I'm always down to chat, bounce off ideas and occasionally collaborate on projects.

Sidequests

  • Built and deployed a couple of air quality monitors at Edge City Patagonia (check out live readings here)
  • Attempted to run a replica of plasticlist in Bangalore (we did not end up doing this in the end, will write a detailed note soon on my learnings)

Rabbitholes

Physics

  • Orbital mechanics (shoutout to KSP for getting me into this one)
  • Control systems and flight dynamics

Bio

  • Environmental microbiomes
  • Plankton
  • Biosynthetic gene clusters and bioprospecting

Computers and Networks

  • How computers work (nand2tetris, assembly, compilers)
  • Cryptographic protocols, zero-knowledge and privacy preserving tech
  • Why aren't there more ffmpegs? Can me make tools like ffmpeg for other things?
